CHiPs (Community House Information Program), was designed and written exclusively for Community/Neighborhood Houses (CNH) and was conceived and written by Peter Jones (Volunteer) with the help from Lisa Archibald (Coordinator) and volunteers from the Inverloch Community House where it has been running successfully for three years.
The reasons for and benefits from CHiPs Currently the functions of CNH such as Activities, Memberships, Volunteers, daily functions reporting and statistics are done manually on various computer products including Excel, Word Outlook and Access. CHiPs brings all these functions into one central point. It is modular so the various CNH can choose which module best suits their requirements. Modules included in CHiPs: - Activities - Attendances - Volunteers - Memberships - Room Hire - Rostering - Covid tracking - NDIS - Tutoring
Included in CHiPs are many functions to help make the CNH more efficient. These functions cover such areas as reporting, weekly scheduling of Activities, memberships cards, emailing and sending SMS messages. It currently also has a Covid tracking function. Training is minimal with about 30 minutes for the larger modules to 10 minutes for the lesser modules and is geared to volunteers with differing job skills.
